About Us

The Global Context and the Mexican Challenge

Scientific innovation is recognized as a fundamental component of the economies of the most developed countries. The United States is the world leader in investment in science, followed by China and South Korea. According to the World Bank, in 2007 the Gross Domestic Product (GDP) of the United States was 19,390 billion dollars, China’s was 12,237 billion dollars, while Mexico’s was 1,150 billion dollars. Given the importance of the country’s economic development, it is imperative that the Mexican scientific community take a leading role in this area.

Mission and Strategic Scope of AMDA

Within this broader framework, the Mexican Adsorption Society was established with the purpose of promoting collaboration among the different scientific stakeholders of Mexican society, in both the public and private sectors, with the aim of addressing the challenges facing Mexico and the world in areas such as sustainability, water security, renewable energy, air and water pollution, among others.

In particular, the Mexican Adsorption Society brings together the Mexican scientific community engaged in research projects focused on adsorption processes in liquid and gaseous phases, the synthesis of adsorbent materials, and the study of adsorption dynamics, simulation, control, and mathematical modeling.

Core Objectives and Academic Strengthening

The Mexican Adsorption Society aims to establish multidisciplinary research networks united by the field of adsorption, where the expertise of its members can be enriched through collaboration. It seeks to foster scientific cooperation, strengthen research capacities and infrastructure, and promote the development of innovative and impactful projects.

The Association also strives to consolidate an adsorption academy in which specialized human resources can be trained collaboratively while encouraging scientific dialogue. Furthermore, it organizes meetings, congresses, workshops, and colloquia focused on adsorption, promoting the dissemination of the most significant advances in the field.
